I don’t know that Bernie would have beaten Trump, but I know he would have done a hell of a lot better in places like Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin. It’s not just about Bernie specifically though; it’s the Democratic Party’s complete unwillingness to listen to what people were actually passionate about. For years I held out hope that Hillary Clinton could become a better politician and learn from her mistakes but all she’s done is stubbornly cling to the same old advisors and priorities. The depth of Trump support was always going to be a beast to contend with and maybe we always would have lost, but we didn’t have to fucking lose like this.
There were so many ways, even after fucking up and making her the nominee, that this could have been avoided. I wasn’t prepared for a bloodbath like this but I was nervous.
Lmao remember when people thought it was a good idea to raise money for the NC GOP when their office got burned down, I’ve been thinking about that all night
Remember people pretending Tim Kaine was in any way a good or inspiring choice for VP
Remember “Drumpf”
There were huge silent reserves of vile racists lurking in the background and this is primarily on them but holy hell what a shitty opposition to put up against them
@dippyface yeah it came out in one of the emails, from a memo her campaign sent the DNC
“We need to be elevating the Pied Piper candidates so that they are leaders of the pack”
She surrounds herself with the dumbest fucking people
Hillary Clinton’s campaign strategized with the DNC to elevate Trump as a candidate, and she hasn’t visited Wisconsin since April
Not to mention the strategy of trying to appeal more to moderate Republicans than progressive Democrats
But people are just gonna ignore all that and yell at Susan Sarandon and Killer Mike
